Handcrafted Wood-core Ski Blades for Ultimate Agility
Kickstarter Launching July 2025!
Blade Bros Ski Blades
Why ski blades?
Ski blades (also known as short skis or skiboards) offer a unique and exciting way to experience the slopes. Here’s why you should give them a try:
1. Superior Maneuverability
With their shorter length, ski blades allow for quick, sharp turns and effortless control. Whether you're carving down groomed runs or navigating tight tree lines, you'll find them more responsive than traditional skis.
2. Easier to Ski Backwards
Unlike long skis, ski blades make skiing switch (backward) incredibly smooth and natural. Their compact design reduces the risk of catching an edge or getting your skis crossed, making them perfect for freestyle tricks, terrain parks, or just having fun cruising in reverse.
3. All-Around Fun
Ski blades turn every run into a playground. Whether you're a beginner looking for an easy and intuitive way to enjoy the slopes, or an advanced skier wanting to spice up your ride, ski blades provide a fresh, thrilling experience that makes every turn feel dynamic and exciting.
If you're looking for maximum fun with minimal effort, ski blades are the way to go!
How are Blade Bros different than other ski blades?
Blade Bros stand out from other ski blades in a few major ways. First, they offer up to 70% more surface area than traditional ski blades, giving you a much better all-mountain experience, especially when you're skiing in powder. That extra float makes a big difference.
They also feature a solid wood core with a clear topsheet, so not only do you get a more responsive ride, but you can actually see the natural wood grain, which gives them a clean, premium look.
Most importantly, Blade Bros were designed specifically for use with normal release bindings—the kind you'd find on traditional skis—which are far safer than the non-release bindings used on most ski blades. So you're not just getting better performance, you're getting better safety, too.
Each pair is truly one of a kind. It’s gear that performs on the mountain and turns heads in the lift line.

What We Need Funding For
Bringing a product like this to life takes more than just a great idea—it takes a community. Your support will help us cover key parts of the process:
Prototyping: We’ve already developed initial designs, but we need to build and test refined prototypes to perfect the ride, flex, and finish.
Production: With your help, we can invest in manufacturing equipment, and streamline the build process to maintain premium craftsmanship at scale.
Materials: We’re committed to using high-quality, sustainable materials— locally sourced wood, eco-friendly resin, and sintered bases. These materials are more costly, but they’re worth it for performance and the planet.
How Kickstarter Works
If you’re new to Kickstarter—welcome! Here’s the gist:
You back a project by choosing a reward tier and pledging money.
Your card is only charged if the project reaches its funding goal.
Once funded, we move into production and deliver your rewards as promised. It’s crowdfunding with a purpose: you help bring innovative, independent projects to life and get cool stuff in return.
Founders and Brand Story
Who are the Blade Bros?
Hi, I’m Josh Harp, the founder behind Blade Bros and someone who’s been skiing on blades since I was a kid.
There’s just something about ski blades: the freedom, the agility, the way they let you carve through the trees. I grew up riding them with my brothers and friends, and over the years, we started calling ourselves the Blade Bros. It was half a joke, half a badge of pride—but always about having more fun on the mountain than anyone else.
As I got older (and started skiing more terrain), I realized something was missing: I wanted a ski blade that could handle more than just groomed runs. Something with more surface area—wide enough to float through powder, cut through chop, and still feel playful and agile. But nothing on the market quite fit the bill.
With a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and over 10 years experience working with wood and composites, I had the background to do something about it.
So I brought it all together: the love for blades, the engineering mindset, the years of craftsmanship—and started building the ski blade I always wanted. One with a solid wood core, excellent edge control, and the versatility to take on the whole mountain.
They ride beautifully, they look amazing, and they’re made with sustainability and craftsmanship at the core. I have quite literally never had so much fun on the mountain.
Thanks for checking out the project. Whether you’re already a blade believer or just blade-curious, I’m stoked to have you here and can’t wait for you to try them.
